| Dear Friends of Sanctuary ... | |||||||||||||
| How long overdue this is !!! The quarterly newsletter is becoming almost an annual thing.... Life in the jungle is busy.... | |||||||||||||
| The more things change... | |||||||||||||
| At last we have a walking track both from the long house and from the pool that goes all the way to the car park. | |||||||||||||
|
In total we now have 2-3 kilometres of beautiful hand made walking tracks with stairs and bridges that wind their way through the jungle. They have been a labour of love of many - thank you to everyone involved for your efforts as you shovelled and carried backpacks filled with gravel ...really ...serious hard labour....but worth every drop of sweat ..thank you. |

These paths are beautiful and we are constantly told how great they are. These days most people even refuse a lift up the hill and prefer instead to take the forest walk !! |

| Yoga too... | |||||||||||||
| Susan has begun teaching yoga classes at the Sanctuary for both guests and locals which is making everyone just that extra bit relaxed.. is there ever too much relaxation?? The classes at the moment are on the top floor of our house with the most spectacular of views across the rainforest to the sea... yes... just like our longhouse.... a great place to take a deep breath...and work up a sweat.... Thank you to everyone who has attended classes at Sanctuary ... We hope you are maintaining your interest in wellness in your world.... | |||||||||||||

| We also now have a range of massage therapies available everyday, from deep tissue...to aromatherapy relaxation massage.. so when you're next here you can really unwind. | |||||||||||||

Building | ||||||||||||
| We have finally finished building our new cabins..!!! for those ready to return... these are similar in style to the longhouse... timber and glass with their own bathrooms...with a fantastic view from the glass walled shower into the rainforest A few more creature comforts for those that prefer. The next building project is a new Yoga and massage room to be started next year. | |||||||||||||

We are happy to say that again this year we have a male Cassowary and three chicks passing our long house most days which is a great sign of their continuing survival . This picture on the right shows one of the many other phenomena that we are grateful to witness so regularly ... real life in the jungle as one of our beautiful green tree frogs gets eaten by an equally beautiful green tree snake !! It really is a jungle out here@!!! |

| Our beautiful daughter is filling our lives with much laughter as she is learning to run before she has mastered walking ... so lot's of bruises for her ... but otherwise we are training her to be the new Sanctuary Manager ... as soon as she can reach the cappuccino machine. | |||||||||||||

| We had a fantastic holiday earlier this year at a place called The Sanctuary in Koh Phangan Thailand, a fabulous chilled out place with great food, Yoga and Massage ... | Seasonal Greetings | |||||||||||||

Now that this has taken me so many months to complete it's time to wish you a very merry Christmas and a fantastic year ahead wherever you are and whatever you are doing. For us, we are fully booked over Christmas and New year so we plan to take off to Thailand again in February to recover and prepare for the year ahead. We have also been recommended in the new "rough guide" as one of 50 things not to miss while in Australia which is already sending people our way...so a busy year ahead. |

| Next Year | |||||||||||||

Our New Year will see the building of the new yoga/workshop/massage space ready for the busy season and .. finally .. the completion of our house in time for the Sanctuary Baby #2 at the beginning of June (really!). The new workshop/yoga space will allow for a range of activities to happen at Sanctuary from the selection of wellness related options - such as massage, reflexology and yoga - to an option for showing wildlife documentaries, and interesting art house films a few nights a week. And maybe, when you return, we can run an improptu workshop using whatever skill you have to share. |

The sky's the limit as we look forward to the evolution of Sanctuary.... who knows what it will bring. There is no doubt it will become even harder to leave Sanctuary and easier to return... SO until we see you next time thank you for all your continuing recommendations that still bring people here. We've enjoyed how many of you have sent mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters and friends ... |
